NBD x Glow Studeo

Hello everyone, coming at you with a BTS from a collab with NBD (No Bad Days)!

My good friends at NBD and I decided to collab for their new candle launch, The Daylit. This collection consists of 7 different scents for the 7-day week which originates from the calendar of the Babylonians.

While shoot planning, I decided the focus would be on the ingredients of each candle and the collection’s colors. Choosing the backgrounds was straightforward since it was going to be the individual candle’s color. Prop sourcing/ styling was the part that took up a majority of the planning. Besides sourcing ingredient props, I also gathered random objects that could be used across multiple sets and still looked consistent.

Here is the prop list page from the shoot plan. I found that including dimensions would be helpful for the mockup stage.

This was my first time drafting mockups digitally. For my past shoots, I’d create sketches on paper because that seemed simpler. Comparing mockups and sketches, mockups are the better route since you can gauge how the objects would look together.

This page from the shoot plan consists of inspo and the mockup for one of the candles/ set.

This shoot was the most extensive one I’ve done so far and I got to experiment in so many different ways. Here are a few of the final images!
